Ceil is a very aggressive character. She feels comfortable confronting every problem in a loud, putting-dukes-up sort of way. In the last scene of the play, Catherine is up to her limits with fighting with Ceil. She pulls out a new tactic and spends most of that last scene in this bitter, hurt, but calm voice. Ceil is trying to get Catherine really angry and yell at her because that's how Ceil can handle situations. Catherine finally stabs Ceil where she wants to and Ceil leaves to never return again. This is a verbal fight and can be executed physically as well -- not with punches, but with a sort of dance going on around the stage.
